Off to the zoo and aquarium in d'Amneville about two hours from here for Taylor's birthday.
We had heard that the tolls around here are pretty steep and had our first experience. Whoa. We were on the toll road for just over an hour each way and it cost us $38. Yikes!
The aquarium was not as large as I was expecting but we enjoyed it.
We spent the morning wandering the aquarium, waiting for the weather to warm up a bit before heading for the zoo.
My 20 year old at the zoo on her birthday. She really enjoyed her day. This was a really large zoo and very beautiful natural setting.
There were several shows throughout the day. This was our favorite. We've never seen anything like this before.
The show was in a stadium with very talented horsemen, riding and handling large birds of different kinds. In English the show interprets to the Raptor Spectacle. Several large bird handlers (all quite good looking) brought birds into the stadium where they flew just above and sometimes through the stands. My favorite were the owls. They had several different kinds of owls. Hard to describe the show but very cool nonetheless.
Taylor's favorite were the white tigers.
